If you haven’t treated yourself to Austin-local Kerbey Lane CafĂ©’s Tomato Pie yet, you might pencil in a meal there, because you don’t want to miss this. Made with tomatoes from Oak Hill Farm in Poteet, the (not-so-photogenic) pie is mostly tomato - fresh, juicy, flavorful tomato slices - with some feta, kalamata olives, and basil playing supporting roles. It’s only on Kerbey Lane’s summer menu and the folks there
don’t expect to have it beyond the end of the month. Sometimes they run out by the end of the day, even, so you might call ahead if you’re going for dinner. I recommend completing your summer-tomato extravaganza by ordering the panko-encrusted Tomato Fries, too. Eating doesn’t get much better than this. And like so many of life’s great pleasures, this one is fleeting.

But don’t forget—like all seasonal, local delights you can look forward to it next year. Kerbey’s tomato pie tastes like Summer.
Guess I’d better hightail it over there. Those both look yummy!
