Even Wal-Mart is Going Local

A curious press release landed in my in-box on Friday:  Wal-Mart Commits to America’s Farmers as Produce Aisles Go Local in Texas, it’s titled.  The behemoth retailer has even dedicated a website to the cause.  “Offering local produce has been a Wal-Mart priority for years, and we’re taking it to a new level with a pledge to grow our partnerships with local farms in Texas,” the release quotes SVP Pam Kohn as saying. “We’re committed to purchasing locally grown produce whenever possible.”

Could I get a copy of the press release as well? Journalism student — interested in contacting local farmers and getting opinions.
