Texas Locavore

The folks at Primizie have taken local sourcing seriously since opening the east-side restaurant a few months ago.  Now, though, they’ve taken local to a whole new level with a dedicated Local Specials Menu.  There’s a lot of seafood and fish listed here, and our patient server explained that the fisherman who supplies the restaurant drives up from the coast every Thursday with a fresh delivery — so that’s a great night to eat local at Primizie.  One complaint:  With all this local food on the menu, the wine list features not a single Texas wine.  Apparently the management works with a distributor who doesn’t carry any Texas wines, and buying from someone other than your distributor can make that relationship tricky.  Since most of Texas’s great wineries don’t produce enough volume to be carried by distributors, you won’t find them listed on distributor-only wine lists.
